ParaXylene
is a colorless liquid chemical widely used as a feedstock in the manufacture of
other industrial chemicals, notably terephthalic acid (TPA), purified
terephthalic acid (PTA) and dimethyl-terephthalate (DMT), which are used to
make polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyesters, a plastic fundamental in the
production of drink bottles and polyester for the textile industry.
