Akihiko Hiraoka was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Finance & Accounting Vice President of Petro Rabigh, effective March 1, 2022.
Hiraoka joined Petro Rabigh in August 2018 as Senior Advisor to Chief Financial Officer. His connection with Petro Rabigh started in 2005 when he was appointed as Deputy Manager of Sumitomo Chemical’s Rabigh Project Office.
Before joining Petro Rabigh, he held various positions at Sumitomo Chemical in the fields of business planning and sales and marketing mainly in the petrochemical sector including General Manager of Sumitomo Chemical Asia Pacific, a regional headquarter for 2013-2016 and General Manager of Acrylic Materials Department for 2016-2018.
Hiraoka joined Sumitomo Chemical at the company’s Osaka Head Office, Japan, in 1990 as a Corporate Planning Officer. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from Doshisha University, Japan in 1990.
