Dr. Khalid Saleh AlSultan was appointed as a Petro Rabigh Independent Board Member, bringing with him an extensive background in industrial engineering, operations research, and leadership across academia and public sectors.

Dr. AlSultan earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1990, along with an M.S. and B.S. in Systems Engineering from KFUPM in 1987 and 1985, respectively.

Throughout his career, Dr. AlSultan has held influential roles, including his service as the Chairman of the Saudi Electricity Company. He also served as President of the Saudi Electricity Company and as the Rector of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, with the rank of Minister since 2018.

 Academically, he held senior positions in top-tier universities in the Kingdom, including his tenure as President of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals from 2003 to 2018, and was Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education between 1998 and 2003.

He also brings a wealth of experience from his roles on various boards, such as the Board of Directors at Saudi Aramco, Board of Trustees at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, and several positions within the Misk Foundation, Misk Schools, and the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, among others.
