Ibrahim Al-Buainain is the President & CEO of Saudi Aramco Trading Company (ATC) an integrated global trading company for hydrocarbons and chemical.

Ibrahim has over twenty six years of experience in the oil & gas industry. During his career with the company, Ibrahim assumed leadership roles in Saudi Aramco including Refining Operation, Project Management, Joint Ventures Management, Trading and Business Development.

Al-Buainain joined the company in 1989 and worked as Operation Engineer at Ras Tanura Refinery. In 1995, he was assigned as a Lead Project Engineer for Shaybah Program. In 1998 through 2004, he was assigned to work with Saudi Aramco Joint Venture Company in South Korea (S-Oil) as a General Manager responsible of all trading and logistic activities for crude oil, refined products, and chemicals. In 2004, he was assigned as a Portfolio Manager for all Saudi Aramco International Joint Ventures and in 2007 he was named as Director of Asia Joint Venture Department managing Saudi Aramco business in Asia Pacific out of Hong Kong. In 2009, he was assigned as a Director for Rabigh Phase-II Development Project, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. From 2011 to 2013 Al-Buainain was appointed as Director of Structuring and Venturing Department in New Business Development, responsible for the development and implementation of sustainable and growth-oriented business. At the same time he was appointed as CEO of Saudi Aramco Energy Venture (SAEV), Corporate Venture Capital Company, and wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco that invests globally in startup technology base ventures. In 2014, Al-Buainain was appointed as a President of Aramco Asia based in Beijing, a wholly owned affiliate of Saudi Aramco that manages Saudi Aramco interest and provides various services in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2015, he was appointed as Global Head for Transaction Development responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and execution of new and alternative business opportunities for Saudi Aramco. Transaction development covers joint ventures development, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures that covers all upstream, downstream, infrastructure, power and renewable sector.

Al-Buainain holds a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MBA in Global Management and a Master degree in Innovation and Global Leadership from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also attended the executive management program at IMD in Switzerland.
